Notorious Lout Marries Police Officer in Port Harcourt

I promised to share an interesting and somewhat weird love story I got wind of on my way from church with you right? Okay, here we go. So, there happens to be a notorious 'lout' terrorizing drivers at Rumuola. How do I know? Well, here's the story.

My taxi had loaded and was ready to head to Choba from Rumuola, but there was a Toyota Camry parked right in front of us, blocking the way. The owner of the car, happened to be the notorious 'lout', who knew we were ready to move but was proving stubborn. He had a pretty rough face which at first glance appeared to be scars left by chicken pox. But on closer look and careful scrutiny, it didn't quite seem like what I presumed because it was all over his face and somehow came off as a sort of disguise. I looked at his hand to get some kind of confirmation that it wasn't a deliberate disguise and saw same scars behind his palm. He had a long sleeved shirt on and I couldn't see any other part of his body. He also had a black face cap on, probably to hide something from public view as well.

According to the driver of the cab I boarded, the 'lout' was demanding N200 from all the drivers loading at that bus stop. He made shakara small and reluctantly entered his car and allowed us drive out.

Now to the love story. The driver said the 'lout' was part of a robbery gang. They robbed a bank: some were killed, but two were arrested, one of whom was the lout. He spent some time in prison, then a certain policewoman who we later hear was looking for a husband, helps Mr Lout secure his money and works to secure his release. I don't know how he was released, but he was indeed released and ended up marrying Mrs Policewoman.

They got married in one of the most popular churches in town, buying new vans and busses before the wedding, which they use to convey guests and family. These vehicles are now used for transportation and other stuff.

Our driver says Mr Lout does whatever he wants and gets away with it because his wife is a 'top' police officer. The police officers stationed at his area of operation cannot do anything about him. Anyone who challenges him does so at their own peril, and even gets teargassed in some cases. He's also the ring leader of a popular cult group in the state, our driver adds.

We drive past NTA/Apara link road and our driver mentions that Mr Lout has a house there as well that was built after he was released.

One of the questions I asked, which I leave with you guys is, so after waiting that long for Mr Right, that robber was the best option Mrs Policewoman could settle for?

The fact that they were joined in one of the most popular churches in Port Harcourt, has got me thinking... I'm suspecting it was during one of these their mass wedding ceremonies. But what role has the church got to play in reforming the character of its members? Yes, no one can hold a gun to your head and force you to be at your best behavior, but should they be involved in such a situation as that of Mr Lout and Mrs Policewoman? Even if they knew their background story, are they following up this couple to ensure they live right? Unfortunately, the Mr Lout's attitude doesn't tell of any reformation whatsoever.

The aforementioned popular church is in the news today, but until I hear what they have to say about what they have been said to be involved in, I will hold on to that story till they are given the right to respond.

    1. Anything can happen . As they say ,what goes around comes around. So I hope she won't be surprised when she begins to reap what she's sown.
